Yesterday I went to a camp reunion thingy. We were celebrating 21 years of Ted & Sylvia leading a Christian kids camp. I first went on it ten years ago and became a Christian, so it's kinda important to me. It also got my parents into children's work. The camps themselves are pretty much like Godzone/Holiday Club back at Christ Church Abingdon, but over a whole week. It's amazing fun and as a semi-leader (I helped out once, but was often a leader's kid as well so i got to know the leaders) I made a lot of friends there. Being able to see them all again was wonderful.
The day didn't go exactly according to plan of course. I caught my train from Bargoed to Cardiff and then from Cardiff to Reading. At Reading I met my amazing Mum, who'd drive me to the event (in High Wicombe). Before that we needed to do some quick banking stuff (didn't work) and eat a quick meal (took longer than we thought) and we got lost on the way to the place so we were about an hour late. We eventually did arrive and had a great time. Though I had a bit of trouble remembering names, I enjoyed seeing everyone again.
To be honest I didn't get to talk to anybody for that long. It would have taken a while to get past the small-talk stage of asking how we all are. Others there were obviously in closer contact and jumped straight in. In that sense it was a bit dissapointing, a shadow of an age gone by, but on the other hand it wasn't all that nessacary because I could feel the love & care from old in their hugs and "hi"s.
The celebration of Ted & Sylvia was focused into a compilation of talks, slideshows and other surprises, and was good fun. There's not really much else to say about it, other than I wish it could have been for longer. We had dinner and then left early in the hope of making it back to the train station in time for my train. Whilst we made it to the train on time, the train was late (thanks to the rugby) and so I got into Cardiff seconds after my train had left, meaning another hour of hanging around waiting at Cardiff Central. Whilst I am getting used to waiting around there, it was less pleasant last night. Last time I'd waited it had been for an hour and a half in an empty station. This time was only an hour but the station and train were completely packed. I have a mini-phobia of large crowds of people I don't know, so I felt very unsettled until I'd got back to Beth's and had been able to relax a bit.
Strange day. Good fun.
I can't think of much else to say really. I've recently been upgrading djchallisgaming. I'm going back through the old reviews and adding capital letters (wow) as well as re-writing bits to correct myself and make it more readable. I've also been adding extra pages, including videos, cheats and secrets (later to be followed by guides and walkthroughs). Eventually it'll be a massive site.
Other than that I got nothing. Thanks so much to everyone who's prayed for me recently, it's been greatly appreciated. I miss you all, hope to see you sometime soon!
